town is similar in many ways to other towns on the Costa Tropical with
its rugged mountain landscapes and beaches that make it one of the nearest
places to paradise. It is an ideal place to either live or holiday with
its many nautical sports or relaxing lazy days. Properties in this area
are a good investment as holiday properties can be let all year round.
Airports – Malaga or Granada
Salobrena, about 13 km (8 miles) east of Almunecar is an old whitewashed town which sits on a pretty unspoilt tropical beach, with its clear blue waters, shops, bars and restaurants. The prospective purchaser is spoiled for choice here as properties range from the old town type houses to the more modern villas which have been designed to fit into the scenery in an unobtrusive way. Salobrena is famous for its Sugar Cane Industry whose plantations surround the town.
Calahonda is a pretty little town that sits in a bay with its whitewashed houses and apartments. Calahonda also boast its own port and has many water sport activities as well as the fishing industry. It is a very up and coming area and is therefore a very good investment when purchasing your dream home.
Two hours north of Malaga, Granada is said be the most Beautiful City in Spain with its delightful scenery and rich Spanish culture with flamenco as one of its top pastimes. It is the home of the Alhambra Palace that sits below the snow capped Sierra Nevada Mountains, and has areas to explore such as the old silk market around the Capilla Real and the Albaicin. Granada is steeped in History and once there you will find it hard to pull yourself away.
